Charlie graduated from the University of Otago in 2018 with a Bachelor of Laws. During his law degree, he worked for another Dunedin firm and volunteered at the Community Law Centre, becoming a shift leader in 2017. Charlie also volunteered as a student advisor with the Refugee Information and Legal Advice Service, providing legal support to refugees including assistance in bringing family members to New Zealand. In 2017 and 2018 Charlie was a semi-finalist in a number of client interviewing and witness examination competitions. In his final year of study he undertook a summer clerkship with a law firm in Tauranga.
Charlie has a strong interest in journalism. In 2017 he was Sports Editor for The Critic (Te Arohi), the University of Otago’s independent student magazine, and was awarded the Aotearoa Student Press Association “Best Sports Writer’.
Charlie joined Solomons in 2019 and is enjoying gaining experience across a wide range of legal matters, working primarily in the firm’s private client, commercial and litigation teams.
