Michaela is a Partner of Solomons specialising in dispute resolution, civil and commercial litigation, relationship property and employment law.
Michaela joined Solomons in June 2017 having previously been a Partner with another Dunedin law firm. Michaela returned to New Zealand in 2014 from the Channel Islands where she was a Senior Associate with Mourant Ozannes, one of the world’s largest offshore firms, specialising in commercial litigation and complex, multi-jurisdictional disputes.
Michaela is an experienced litigator having appeared regularly in the District and High Courts and a range of tribunals. With the added advantage of two years of legal counsel for a leading European bank, Michaela brings a strong commercial focus to the resolution of disputes.
At Solomons, Michaela meets the needs of the firm’s clients on all dispute related matters. She has a down to earth approachable style and works with clients to obtain their desired outcome. Her practice areas include:

Michaela has a special interest in professional negligence and disciplinary matters, and acts for individuals across a number of professions. She was previously a member of the Law Society Otago Standards Committee.
Michaela was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in 2002 and as a Solicitor of England and Wales in 2011 (currently non practising).
